Small World
Junior Zapata, writing from Guatemala, told the story of the death of Princess Diana that gave me a new perspective on just how global our thinking should be today. In his essay, A Princess Dies, he described the event like this:
"An English Princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel while riding a German car with a Dutch engine driven by a Belgian chauffer that was drunk with Scottish Whisky.
"They were being chased by Italian Paparazzi on Japanese motorcycles. The first medical team on site was a Swedish-made ambulance with a Moroccan medical emergency technician. Later, a Russian Doctor and a Philippine assistant attended them. They were examined with Swiss medical instruments.
"This is a translation from Portuguese into Spanish made by a Colombian person. It has been translated back into English by a Guatemalan wannabe author so readers like you could understand it.
